Cape Omanny light on the way to Sitka.

Boat in the distance coming down Teneke Inlet just before sunset.

My undergraduate minor is in glacial geology. Can't get enough of them.

Near Petersburg. Almost every bay surrounded by mountains has a glacier in it. Extremely beautiful!

Porpoise tag games.Sometimes 20 or more chase the boat, back and forth across the bow. Just having some fun.

Sunset at 10:30 p.m.

Good place to 'relax'.

Seiner with the net "pursed" up and hauling the fish on board.

This guy was sleeping, floating on the surface. Rare sight, and he wasn't happy having his nap interupted!

Salmon purse seiner hauling in the net. The skiff is pulling the boat while the crew hauls in the net. This way the net comes onboard without tangleing under the boat.

Glacial meltwater, fresh, meeting the salt water outside Wrangell.

One has lunch in his talon, the other one must try again.

Lunchtime in downtown Ketchikan. Waiting their turn at the cannery outfall into the harbor. Dining on fish guts and gurry from the canneries in town.

Humpback whales everywhere. Natures best fishermen. Said to eat as many as 200 salmon daily.

Dollys' House brothel on Creek street. On a boardwalk over the creek. No one home!
Been running around the fishing grounds of S.E. Alaska for two weeks now. Been in internet hell the whole time. Anchored up outsde Wrangell tonight and am just posting some random pictures for anyone who may like to see what it is like. Sorry about the dates on some, not even the right year, but I am lucky to point and shoot for a picture. Hope you enjoy!
